FAMILY THERAPY and PARENT COUNSELLING

Families are a system in which each member plays an important role. When one family member is not doing well, it affects the entire family. Often, problems are not isolated causes but rather symptoms indicating that something in the system is out of balance—this applies even to separated families.

Whether in a patchwork family, a traditional setup, or as a single parent, every family faces the challenge of organizing family life so that the needs of all members are heard and respected without constantly overstepping personal boundaries. In family therapy, I guide you in discovering ways to resolve conflicts constructively and foster a more harmonious coexistence.

Parenting is a role we grow into without instructions, and although we always do our best, we sometimes hit our own unconscious limits. Children often have a special gift for highlighting these sensitive points in their parents by reflecting unresolved emotional issues through their behavior.

In my sessions, I primarily work with adults, although children are part of the process to represent the family system as a whole and to ensure that balance is maintained. Through working with parents, we can create positive changes that impact the entire family system, leading to greater understanding and a better family dynamic.

In my parent counseling, which is guided by Jesper Juul's principles, equality, integrity, responsibility, and authenticity are at the core. My goal is to support parents in strengthening their family relationships. Together, we examine children's behavior, contextualize it within their developmental stages, and explore their genuine needs for healthy growth.

A key focus is recognizing outdated attitudes from previous parenting patterns that often unconsciously persist, and developing a new, empathetic, and responsible approach to interacting with children. I help parents reinforce their role as family anchors, providing orientation and building a respectful, sustainable relationship with their children.
